Ahh, Valentine’s Day, the day of WCW’s, MCM’s, couple goals, pandora princess rings, and singletons acting like they don’t care that they’re single on the most loving day of the year.

It’s here again, February 14th. Will you be celebrating? And most importantly, where are you eating?

Below I have listed my top picks on where to eat based on your relationship status; whether you’re spending the evening with your girls, your situationship or your main babes.

Single

On any girls’ night out, it is always key to go somewhere with 2-4-1 cocktails, for when you plan to drink away any thoughts about that boy who still hasn’t texted you back or whether you just want to enjoy the company of your girls.

Everyone knows about Turtle Bay’s popular 2-4-1 cocktails for £7.25. My favourite has to be the Bahama Mama and of course their Strawberry Daiquiri.

Top tip: Don’t forget to order your food whilst you spend 20 minutes deciding which cocktails you’re all going to go halves on when the bill comes.

If we are going a bit more food focused, don’t hesitate to try Las Iguana’s this Valentine’s Day. Their spin on Latin food will have you forgetting you were ever once heart broken by what’s his name. Not to mention, they also do a range on 2-4-1 cocktails and pitchers at affordable prices, so if you’re a student fear not, I’ve got you.

It’s Complicated

You know when it’s not exclusive and you have no idea what’s going on in the relationship? We’ve all been there.

This one’s for the girls, who hint they want to do something for Valentine’s Day. And the boys who will agree to, but don’t want to splash out because there’s a slight chance they might break off the situationship the week after for Becky with the good hair.

There is nothing wrong with a cheeky Nando’s date on Valentine’s Day. After all, you’re not official, it’s affordable and who doesn’t love chicken and peri salted chips?

So many people have discussed on Twitter the decline of TGI’s food, but I can honestly say, I think it’s a top place to go on Valentines if you’re in a situationship.

Every girl will probably order the same Jack Daniel’s Sesame Strips and chips meal. So, boys, you can act like you know her well and order her meal for her, and girls you can feel special for the night as it is an acceptable place to wear a pair of heels to.

I went to TGI’s last Valentine’s with my girls, and I was surrounded by couples who were paranoid to be seen together so I hope that explains my choice a little bit better.

Taken

My single self has not yet been lucky enough to be wined and dined on Valentine’s Day. However, if you are, and you want to enjoy a fancy meal instead of a cute night in with bae, here are my suggestions based off where my “happily in love” friends have previously gone for their Valentine’s dates.

Carluccio’s is more on the pricey side, but it’s a classy, romantic setting full of official couples who are setting the standards of love. If you like Italian food

Last but not least, The Shard. You already know that just has to go on here. Those views, the Instagram’s, the fact you can say, ‘My man took me to the shard to Valentine’s Day.’ How could I not include it?

Of course, the price again is higher than a normal student budget, but if you’re serious you would have been prepared for this day for months, surely?

Every girl loves the excuse to dress their best, see their man looking fine in a shirt, eat fancy food and drink expensive wine whilst looking over London.

That wraps up my top picks of restaurant recommendations for Valentine’s Day. Of course, as always, I will be at home in my pyjamas with my cat and a hot chocolate, but don’t feel bad for me. Hopefully next year I will be able to say, ‘My man took me to The Shard for Valentine’s Day’.
