Bruno Brings the 90's back with new single Finesse: Review

Ever since her hit, Bodak Yellow, Cardi B has continued on a road that is quickly taking her to rap superstardom.
Cardi was one of the hottest artists of 2017 and judging by this 90’s infused remix of Bruno mars’ original song, Finesse, it looks like her flames have followed her straight into 2018.
By releasing this song at the beginning of 2018, both Cardi B and Bruno Mars have made a great statement, demonstrating they are ready to reign above the music scene this year. Cardi B kick starts the track with a funny but aggressive verse which is in sync with the music she usually releases. With her flow combining well with the 90’s inspired beat of the track, it proves she can be versatile with the beats she is given.
For the rest of the track we are treated to the amazing voice of Bruno Mars who we have to say has a canny knack for making music that gives old school vibes. With the combined talents of Cardi and Bruno, anyone young or old will be on their feet.
The video has an old school style with baggy shirts, big colourful jackets and spotlights. Bruno's fashion reminds us of Will Smith’s style in the The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The video includes everything associated with the 90's which is refreshing as it doesn't compare to anything currently in the music scene. As always, Bruno’s moves and choreography are on point while Cardi is shown to be in a playful mood as she messes around on the retro set.
Whilst the timing of this remix is odd considering Bruno’s album 24K Magic was released in November 2016, there may have been a method to his madness. Bruno Mars who as we all know was up for the Grammy award, 'Album Of The Year', seemed to remind everyone how powerful and versatile he is which lead him to take home the award at the Grammys on Sunday!
