Incoming tune ! Busta Rhymes- Girlfriend

Busta Rhymes is a legend in the rap game. Whilst he doesn't generally get the same level of props as many of the apparent GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) contenders, it remains that Rhymes has been a mainstay in the rap game for nearly two decades. Plus, the rapper has worked with pretty much everybody - from The Pussycat Dolls to Chris Brown, and now we can add rapper, Tory Lanez, to the list.

The track is a shoutout to Rhymes' Jamaican roots. It features jailed dancehall legend, Vybz Kartel. Throughout the video, Rhymes is seen using cadence and patois, which is a native Jamaican language. The beat produced by Rockwilder, has a big summer vibe to it which Rhymes uses to showcase his impeccable flow. It's new musical territory from Rhymes, who seems to have gravitated towards the music of his heritage in his older years.

Tory Lanez added a lot of substance to the song and was able to show off his excellent vocals, while also being able to blend it in with the beat. It was, again, a classic verse from the jailed Vybz Kartel who gave it that afrobeat vibe, using some great wordplay in the process.

While this sound is different to the hard-hitting beats that Busta Rhymes has produced in the past, it's great to see the rapper try to vary his music genre and with the inclusions of Tory and Vybz, this song was an overall success.

Unfortunately, Rhymes fans still have a while to wait before the rapper's next album, which remains in announcement limbo. Tory Lanez has been one of the best artists of 2017 and continues to be putting in a lot of work with hit singles such as LUV and featuring on big hits like Wild Thoughts which also features Rihanna and DJ Khaled.
