This article definitely wasn't in the pipeline at all but when stupidity is displayed I always have this urge to be a beacon of common sense.
In the early stages of the show viewers were ready to kick up a blind fuss over Yewande.
Per usual there has been complaints of racism and lack of diversity because Yewande seems to not be desired by any of the other guys in the villa and it seems that it is because of her skin colour.
People on Twitter swear that the solution is to get people in the villa that will like her BUT what type of guy is It that is obligated or expected to swoop her up... ? It can't be black guys because why must they HAVE to play saviour to her. Their skin matching isn't a viable reason and a white guy doesn't have to either.
Personality matters
Ladies just a quick question... for those that have partners that actually like them... would your MCM still like you if your personality was exactly like Yewande's?
If I was a betting man I'd say probably not. We don't know how she is realistically but so far she is rather reserved, scared that guys are 'heartbreakers' and overall is just very nice.
Let's get to the point PEOPLE are screaming colourism but in the beginning was anyone really feeling Amber? no and why was that because her personality was seemed to be unattractive.
Now for Yewande her once lack of screen time was when she didn't have any storylines nor was she getting to know anyone so really and truly why would she have been on the screen more? If anything you guys should have wanted things to stay how they were because you must have enjoyed doing Twitter fingers about BTEC racism and still are.
One can say she didn't have the chance but did she really deserve the chance?
Love Island aren’t stupid they are not going to have their TV show be boring and display content that isn’t completely entertaining.
Showing Yewande who didn't have a love interest in the beginning was quite simply stupid. And as you can see her now by force feelings (give Danny attention time) gained her more screen time, which quite frankly was cringe-worthy TV from the moment she sat on Danny's lap.
Conclusion
I won't say that it's merely just a coincidence that black people on Love Island typically share the same experience however at the same time simple logic and common sense can be used to point out certain things, it's not everyday we must attribute things to racism just because it's easy to do. People would rather go with the crowd than stand alone and use their brain. I’ve noticed that TOO many people have this toxic habit.
